When Covid-19 restrictions made it difficult for Karen Mahoney to have her Canadian family at her US wedding, she did the next best thing － she brought her wedding to the border.
當武漢肺炎的限制讓凱倫．馬宏尼的加拿大家人難以出席她在美國的婚禮時，她退而求其次，到美加邊境辦婚禮。
Air travel between the two countries is possible, but she felt it put her family at greater risk, especially considering her grandmother’s age.
搭機往返兩國雖可行，但她覺得這會讓家人承受較大風險，特別是考慮到祖母年事已高。
Mahoney said they have a friend who works for border patrol who had arranged for her to meet her family at the closed border previously, including when her new husband, Brian Ray, asked her father, Paul, for her hand in marriage. So they asked the friend for help in making it work again.
馬宏尼說，他們有個朋友任職於邊境巡邏隊，此人曾安排她在已關閉的邊境與家人會面，包括她的新婚夫婿布萊恩．雷伊請求她父親保羅把女兒嫁給他。所以他們求助該友人再次促成此事。
