進入蔡英文贈小豬撲滿 美民主黨欲向民進黨學習

〔即時新聞／綜合報導〕民進黨主席暨總統參選人蔡英文今天與四位由美國民主黨女性聯邦眾議員組成的美國國會議員訪問團會面，會中除了針對各項相關議題做交流討論，蔡也特別致贈3D列印的綠色小豬撲滿給外賓，眾議員除了大讚小英，也表示會將小額募款的想法帶回去給黨內總統候選人希拉蕊，讓民主黨向民進黨多多學習。
會中雙方針對女性參政、經濟發展、教育改革、長照體系、國際參與及台美關係等議題交換意見，美眾議員們除了肯定民進黨對於鼓勵女性從政、推動長期照護、及教育多元化所做的努力，也表示會將台灣國際參與議題帶回美國國會討論，會議結束前，有眾議員指出，希望未來能夠持續推展彼此之間的交流，也歡迎針對各項議題進行實質對話。
蔡英文在臉書上說，民進黨是能實現進步價值的政黨，格外重視女性參政權，也落實民意代表中，女性席次及女性政務官的比例，更是國內首先推出女性總統候選人的政黨；國際上，民進黨向來大力推動參與女性平權的國際性組織，並希望符合聯合國「消除對婦女一切形式歧視公約」（CEDAW）的精神，未來，我們會強化社會照護系統，減輕女性壓力，讓女性得以安心投入職場。

Representative Frankel distinguished congresswomen and members of the delegation. Good morning. It is our pleasure to welcome all of you to the Democratic Progressive Party.
范蘭珂眾議員、各位傑出的女性眾議員，以及訪問團的各位成員，早安。很榮幸歡迎各位來到民進黨。
Together with us here are also a number of female congresswoman from the DPP. Fifteen of our 40 member legislative caucus are women – and women participation in politics is important for us as a progressive political party. But today we have 4 legislators here.
今天與我們共同出席的，還有來自民進黨的女性立法委員。我們立院黨團的四十席立法委員中，有十五名女性立委。作為一個標榜進步價值的政黨，女性對政治的參與，對我們來說格外重要。今天有四位委員出席。
Your visit comes at an important time for Taiwan. We are now in the middle of a very spirited presidential and legislative campaign. For the first time ever two women are contending for the presidency from both major political parties – although now there appears a chance of this happening in the U.S. as well.
在一個台灣重要的時刻來訪。我們正經歷一個活力充沛的總統和立委選戰。有史以來第一次，有兩位來自主要政黨的女性角逐總統：不過現在看來，這也有可能在美國發生。
In front of you is a piggy bank. This is what we've been using for our campaign. At its heart the DPP is a grassroots party founded by people that wanted to see a free democratic and prosperous Taiwan. We’ve never been a party with a lot of party assets and most of our funding comes from small donations.
在你們面前擺的是一個小豬撲滿。這是我們在選戰中使用的東西。民進黨的核心價值，是一個草根性的政黨，創立民進黨的人希望見到一個自由、民主、繁榮的台灣。我們從來就不是一個擁有大量黨產的政黨，而我們大部分的資金來自小額募款。
Last time in our 2012 campaign a set of young triplets donated their piggy bank’s savings to support my campaign -- I was the candidate for our last campaign as well. This set off a movement that saw people - from all walks of life and all over the country - come together to donate money to us. Altogether 140000 piggy banks were donated to us before the election. Small donations ended up accounting for 87% of all our funding.
在我們2012年的總統大選，有一組三胞胎把他們用小豬撲滿存好的錢捐給我們。我上次也是民進黨的總統候選人。這啟動了一場全民運動，促使全過各地、各行各業的民眾，一同捐款給我們。選舉結束前，我們一共收到140000個小豬。小額捐款，佔我們競選經費的87%。
The percentage of small donations we received symbolized our commitment to transparency accountability and standing together with the people of Taiwan. This year we’re doing it again; we’re hoping to recapture that story.
我們小額捐款的比例，象徵我們致力於政治透明、負責任、以及我們與台灣人民站在一起的決心。今年，我們要再來一次：我們希望讓這個故事再現。
This is an example of what is at stake in Taiwan: a progressive and vibrant democracy. It’s also at the foundation of what brings Taiwan and the United States together. In a region facing growing political and security challenges Taiwan stands as an example of freedom democracy and respect for human rights.
這個例子，突顯台灣所需要維護的價值：一個進步、有活力的民主社會；這些價值也是台灣和美國團結的基礎。在這個政治與國防安全方面，面臨越來越多挑戰的地區，台灣作為一個自由、民主和人權的典範，屹立不搖。
As long-time friends of Taiwan I’m confident that in the future we will build this relation on our shared interests in a safe stable and prosperous region.
各位作為台灣長期的朋友，我相信我們彼此的友誼，未來將繼續立基於雙方共享的利益之上：打造一個安全、穩定而繁榮的亞太地區。
