Adrift and abandoned at sea with their boat's engines no longer working, more than 80 Latin American migrants were saved after resorting to that old fall-back–a message in a bottle.
船上引擎無法使用而在海上漂流並遭到遺棄的八十幾名拉丁美洲移民，在訴諸瓶中訊息這種古老的最後手段之後獲救。
A total of 46 Ecuadoreans and 40 Peruvians were rescued after they popped their written cry for help into a plastic bottle and attached it to one of the drift lines of a fishing vessel.
總共四十六位厄瓜多人和四十位秘魯人，在把他們寫下的求救呼聲塞進一個塑膠瓶並把它綁在一艘漁船的拖網繩索上之後獲救。
Later that evening the captain of the boat noticed the bottle and contacted rescuers who reached the migrant as their boat was beginning to sink. The message in the bottle read: "Help, please help us."
到了當天晚上，這艘漁船的船長注意到這只瓶子並連絡救難人員，救難人員找到這些移民時，他們的船正開始下沉。瓶中的訊息寫道：「救命，請救救我們」。
According to the rescuers, the professional people smugglers had taken all the communication and navigation equipment when they abandoned the migrants who had no sailing experience.
