Russian photographer Murad Osmann, best known for his “Follow Me To” Instagram series featuring his wife, Nataly Zakharova, in locations around the world, is in Taipei for an exhibition featuring photographs of the couple in Taiwan.

The pair arrived ahead of the opening on Thursday last week of the exhibition, “A Journey of Love,” which will run until Friday next week.

Osmann started the viral photo series in 2011 and now has 4 million Instagram followers.

The couple, who have become famous for their pictures and signature hand-in-hand pose, were invited by the Tourism Bureau to attend the opening of the exhibition and by the local branch of Danish jewelry company Pandora to shoot pictures for the company’s catalogue.

The couple visited Taiwan in December last year for eight days to shoot photos for their series, but those photographs were not published until recently.

A photo featuring Osmann being led by Zakharova along the railway tracks near the top of Alishan that was uploaded as part of their Instagram series has received more than 250,000 likes in a short period of time, said Joseph Cheng (鄭智鴻), section chief of the bureau’s International Division.

Other locations included Donggang Township (東港) in Pingtung County, where they took pictures of the traditional boat-burning ritual, Sun Moon Lake (日月潭), Taroko National Park and Taipei 101.
