A high-flying, two-day rescue attempt involving firefighters and transport ministry officials finally paid off June 29 when a frightened kitten was brought down from the lower structure of a highway bridge in Tokyo.
當一隻嚇壞了的小貓在6月29日被從東京一座高架橋的較低層結構被救下來時，一場野心勃勃、歷時2天、參與者包括消防人員與運輸省官員的拯救行動，終於圓滿落幕。
Two workers using a hydraulic lift provided by a gardening company reached the top of the 9.4-meter-high bridge column underneath the elevated national highway in Setagaya Ward where the feline was trapped. A safety net was set up underneath the bridge.
2名工作人員以園藝公司提供的液壓升降機，來到世田谷區高架國道下方、高9.4公尺的橋柱頂端，也就是小貓受困之處。高架橋下方也架起安全網。
After about 90 minutes of chasing the mewing, scurrying animal, the workers managed to catch the kitten.
經過90分鐘追逐這隻喵喵叫、四處亂竄的小動物後，工作人員終於抓住小貓。
The trapped kitten was discovered on the evening of June 27, according to local residents. A day later, firefighters made a failed rescue attempt.
當地居民指出，這隻受困的小貓是在6月27日傍晚被發現。1天後，消防人員試圖加以營救但未成功。
About 20 people took part in the June 29 rescue mission.
6月29日的拯救任務約有20人參與。
It remains a mystery how the kitten got trapped in the bridge under-structure. Some speculate it was carried there by a crow. Others suggest the kitten was somehow put there by a prankster.
這隻小貓為何會受困高架橋的底座結構，仍是個謎。有人猜測牠可能是被烏鴉叼到這裡。也有人認為，小貓可能是被惡搞者不知以何方式放置在該處。
