American technology giant Apple has suspended online sales of its products in Russia citing a pricing review after the rouble went into freefall on Tuesday.
盧布週二暴跌後，美國科技巨擘蘋果公司以檢討定價為由，暫停該公司產品在俄羅斯網路商店販售。
Apple blamed severe fluctuations in the value of the Russian currency for making prices too volatile and cheaper than the rest of Europe.
蘋果歸咎俄羅斯幣值的嚴重波動，使得價格變動太大，而且比歐洲其他地區還便宜。
"Due to extreme fluctuations in the value of the ruble, our online store in Russia is currently unavailable while we review pricing," Apple said in a statement.
「由於盧布幣值劇烈波動，我們正檢討定價，目前俄羅斯的網路商店暫時關閉」，蘋果在聲明中說。
Last month, the company increased the price of the iPhone 6 by 25 per cent after the decline of the ruble made it cheaper to buy in Russia than in the rest of Europe. Apple’s online store acts as its main distribution channel since the company doesn’t have physical stores in Russia.
盧布貶值使得在俄羅斯買iPhone 6比在歐洲其他地方買還便宜，蘋果為此於上個月調漲iPhone 6售價25%。由於蘋果在俄羅斯沒有實體商店，官方網路商店是主要銷售管道。
The ruble sank to more than 80 per dollar, down 20 percent on Tuesday, despite Russia’s central bank ramping up interest rates overnight to 17 percent from 11.5 percent.
儘管俄羅斯中央銀行連夜將利率從11．5%大幅升到17%，週二盧布仍貶破80盧布兌1美元，跌幅20%。
Russia has spent around $80bn trying to prop up its ruble this year, but despite that, the currency has lost more than half its value against the dollar since January, with falling oil prices and the impact of Western sanctions over the Ukraine crisis the chief factors.
俄羅斯今年已花了約800億美元努力提振盧布，儘管如此，自一月以來，盧布兌美元匯率已經貶值超過一半，主要因素是油價下跌以及西方為了烏克蘭危機實施制裁所帶來的衝擊。
