K-pop group BTS said on Wednesday they will not submit any music for consideration at the 69th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2027, citing dissatisfaction with the academy’s new category for best Asian pop music performance.
南韓流行音樂團體「防彈少年團」（BTS）週三表示，他們不會提交任何音樂作品，報名角逐2027年2月舉行的第69屆葛萊美獎，理由是對該組織新設的最佳亞洲流行音樂演出獎不滿。
The decision marks the first time the South Korean group have opted out of the awards ceremony. Each member of the group shared the news in a post on Instagram.
這項決定是這個南韓團體首度選擇不角逐此獎。該團體每名成員都在Instagram發文宣布這項消息。
They said they decided not to enter the Grammys this year and hoped that music could be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language.

The Recording Academy announced the new category on June 16 for music from South Korea, Japan, China, and elsewhere in the region.

It said in a statement that BTS’ decision was disappointing.
