Taiwanese weightlifter Chen Guan-ling won every gold medal of her weight class at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in India on Sunday.

The 18-year-old won three golds in the snatch, clean and jerk, and combined lift categories in the women’s 55kg junior division in Delhi.

In the snatch, Chen won with a lift of 83kg, ahead of Nigora Abdullaeva of Uzbekistan (80kg) and Kim Lua Hoang of Vietnam (79kg).

In the clean and jerk, Chen lifted 112kg, outperforming the Uzbek’s 101kg lift and the Vietnamese’s 97kg.

Chen’s combined total of 195kg put her 14kg ahead of silver medalist Abdullaeva and 19kg ahead of bronze medalist Hoang.

The Taiwanese weight lifter, who graduated from New Taipei Municipal An Kang High School in June, set national records for each of her lifts at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in South Korea in May.

Ten Taiwanese athletes are competing at the tournament in India, which started on Friday and ends on Saturday. Huang Yi-chen last week won a bronze medal in the women’s 49kg division with a clean and jerk lift of 95kg.
