《中英對照讀新聞》Famous hawks return to posh digs on New York City apartment 著名老鷹重返紐約市公寓的時髦棲所
Two famous lovebirds _ red-tailed hawks, to be precise _ have come home to roost, stirring excitement that little ones may be on the way.
Pale Male and Lola were seen at their nest on a tony Manhattan apartment overlooking Central Park, where they spent the winter.
"It's amazing _ here they are again, they're bringing nesting material!" said Yigal Gelb, program director for the New York City Audubon Society.
Although they've had fans for years, Pale Male and Lola gained particular notoriety in 2004 when their original nest was temporarily removed after residents of the building complained that it was a health and safety hazard.
The co-op board later gave in to advocates’ demands and agreed to let the birds return with a nest designed for safety.
