Indonesia’s latest campaign to lure tourists got off to a rocky start after embarrassed officials acknowledged that a key slogan was ungrammatical and ordered it corrected.
印尼的最新吸引觀光客的活動出師不利，官員尷尬地坦承一句主要口號不合乎文法，並下令改正。
"Visit Indonesia 2008. Celebrating 100 Years of Nation’s Awakening" has been printed on billboards and government Web sites.
「2008造訪印尼。慶祝國家的覺醒屆滿100年。」這句口號已被印寫在看板與政府網站上。
To be grammatical, the phrase "Nation’s Awakening" should be made specific, for example by preceding it with the definite article ’the’ or the possessive adjective ’our.’ Another option would be to replace "nation’s" with the adjective "national."
若要符合文法，片語Nation’s Awakening必須更精確，像是在前面加上定冠詞the，或是所有格形容詞our。另一個選項是以形容詞 national來取代 nation’s。
The 1908 event referred to in the campaign is the founding of Indonesia’s first nationalist group, a development hailed here as a key step in the country’s eventual independence from Dutch rule in 1945.
