Six goldfish have been taught to navigate － or drive － an aquarium on wheels as part of an experiment in Israel to understand the extent of their navigational skills and cognitive capability.
六隻金魚被教會導航－或者說駕駛－一個裝有輪子的水族箱，這是以色列一項旨在了解金魚導航技巧和認知能力的實驗的一部分。
The team at Ben-Gurion University developed a so-called FOV — or fish-operated vehicle. The robotic car is fitted with LIDAR, a remote sensing technology that uses pulsed laser light to collect data on the vehicle’s ground location and the fish’s whereabouts inside a mounted water tank.
本古里昂大學團隊開發出一種所謂的FOV，或稱魚駕車。這種機器人車裝上遠距感測科技的光學雷達，使用脈衝雷射來蒐集車輛所在地面位置，以及裝在車上水槽內的金魚的動態。
A computer, camera, electric motors and omni-wheels give the fish control of the vehicle.
一部電腦、相機、電動馬達和全向輪讓金魚能控制車輛。
"Surprisingly, it doesn’t take the fish a long time to learn how to drive the vehicle. They’re confused at first. They don’t know what’s going on. But they’re very quick to realize that there is a correlation between their movement and the movement of the machine that they’re in," said researcher Shachar Givon.
研究員沙查爾．吉文說，「令人驚訝的是，金魚不用很久就學會如何駕駛這輛車。牠們先是困惑，不知道發生什麼事。但牠們很快就了解到自己的運動和牠們所在的機器的運動存在關聯」。
